Last Sunday we were scheduled to shoot a family session in a tree lot in front of the church, but when we arrived it was raining so heavy that our only other option was to shoot inside the church. I tried my hardest not to stress out, and said a little prayer for God to show me what He wanted me to capture inside. Well, as soon as we walked in I noticed a big comfy couch and outside an awning with the most beautful lighting! I was so excited, and we moved the couch outside and took some of my absolute favorite family portraits. Thanks to God :) :) :) It is true, when you let go and let Him do the deciding for you, things seem to go more smooth :) The rain did let up however, and we were able to capture some fun stuff in the lot and a lot of fun puddle shots with the two sisters! :)

Playing in the rain!
these two remind me so much of me and my sister, lol

Mark and Harmony are ENGAGED!
Last week John and I met up with Mark and Harmony for a fun and playful engagement session. These two have a VERY classic love story. They originally met in Kindergarten and were "boyfriend and girlfriend" up until Harmony's family moved away. But just about a year ago they found each other online, and have been inseparable ever since! They are such a fun and sweet couple. Thank you Mark and Harmony! We look forward to your wedding in February!

Yes, we shot at thee school where they first met!

Mark is in the Air Force, so it was only appropriate that we head over to the base and get a few fun shots! I LOVE the light in these!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Thursday, November 27, 2008
Happy Thanksgiving!!! We have a lot to be thankful for today, and I'm so excited to spend the day with my family! My parents are having close to THIRTY people over for dinner tonight, holy cow! Did I mention I have a huge family, lol. A lot of preparation went into today, and of course I snapped off a few pictures :)
Starting on Tuesday.
Last year, we started a new tradition with my dad, and it was making these super awesome noodles.

haha, my dad did not see this coming! hahaha
isn't she adorable! lol

it's funny to see how fascinated the boys are with her stomach :)
I was teasing Dani, because this is the only time I'll ever be thinner than my sister, hahaha
they were making fun of me, lol.
and the night before is always about tons of baking! you wouldn't believe how many cakes and pies are going to be there today. :)
My mom making her famous carrot cake!
I could be wrong, but I think this carrot cake recipe was passed down from my Great Grandmother or something...
my beautiful grandmother :)
I hope all of you have a blessed holiday and are able to enjoy it with the ones you love! :) God Bless.

Sneak Peek! Harmony and Mark
Sunday, November 23, 2008
Just a quick sneak at today's engagement session with Harmony and Mark! I love when our e-sessions run into the evening :) It gives us a chance to play with light! This shot is my absolute favorite! This is straight out of the camera, no photoshop :)It really reminds me of my favorite old fashioned movie, Casablanca :) How romantic :)
This is the scene that came into my head while shooting their engagement session (it's only 2 minutes, and you MUST watch it ;) )
